Pro Talk vs Race

Hi folks.
Just getting to grips with the newly merged forums.
It looks like we've got 2 forums that seem to cover the same thing, Pro Talk and Race.
Perhaps most of the stuff that was on the old Cycling Plus Race forum (Pro Tour Pundit etc) really belongs over on Pro Talk, and we should keep Race for talking about races that _we_ actually do rather than watch?
Otherwise we just get the same topics on repeated on both forums.
What do you all think? Let's take a vote, then we can organise a sticky and all that.

I'm for keeping them separate. Splitting chat about pro's from discussion & tips about the art/logistics of racing for mortals.
Although I would change "Race" to "Race & Sportives".Rich0 -

I've voted yes although my referred option would be to merge all 3 (including pharmacy) into 1
I wouldn't mind what it was called0 -

I actually voted no before finding out what Pro Talk was!! Oops! I thought the suggestion was to have a forum to discuss Pro everything like BMX and MTB, which would be bad! But as I've now discovered that Pro Talk is under 'road' then I really can't see the point of it! When did it start? Why?
Anyway, I say merge now (or rename to make it clear that Race is for discussing amateur/participation racing and Pro Talk for pro racing only - and move PTP there)
I'll go whereever PTP is!

"Pro Talk" and "Pharmacy" were on the ProCycling Forum - "Race" was on CyclingPlus - now the fora have been merged, there is a good deal of overlap. The people who used to hang out in C+ Race are still in there - ProCyclings Forum was always very quiet because it was launched fairly recently and never attracted many users.
I'm quite happy for all pro related gubbings to go to "Pro Talk" and re-label "Race" as "Amateur Racing / Sportives".
I can understand why people want a separate "Pharmacy", but in reality it doesn't work - hardly anoyone posts anything there. Drugs stories are so entwined in pro-racing, it would be like talking about the weather without mentioning rain - it's just not practical!
PS Can't vote for some reason, I just get the results, but add 1 to the "For" motion0 -
Trouble is Andrew (as I posted a while back) no one is interested in "our own" racing, and a large number that post in Race dont race themselves. Most racing stuff ends up in Training... :roll:0
