Hi guys, just got back from a day in thetford forest, evry square inch of my shiny new avalanche 0.5 is covered in sandy acidic crud :(
I Washed it all off with a gentle hose but I was wondering what day to day cleaning materials and lubricants does everyone use. (I at least know enough not to cover everything in WD40!)
Any advice on a good maintenance regime?

I use Muc-off, followed by a dry telfon spray for cassette.

    1, hose down bike,
2, spray with muc-off, leave for 2 mins
3, agitate tough mess with a brush
    4, hose off.

    Job done.

I also got this teflon spray from muc off, you spray it on the bike after the final hose off, then rub it in, its supposed to add a protection layer, dont know if it does but makes a nice finish on the paint.

Finally i lube the moving parts with a dry lube.

Make sure you take off the wheels and give the back of the rear mech a good clean, also make sure you clean the chain very well too. I covered my bike in mud the other week hosed it all down and brushed everywhere only to discover i had missed a couple of small bits on the rear mech. If i had left it any longer it could have rusted and ruined it.
