I reckon they should have included a "Trail Riding" section on this forum as I reckon its closer to what most of us ride. I certainly don´t class my riding as XC, Downhill, or Freeride, and I don´t think many of us ride superlight XC bikes. Just a thought.

    I concur- Not really into trying to catergorize riding to much, because my riding includes about every catrgory out there. But "Trail Riding" encompasses more peoples general riding style.

    I think that's what us old farts mean by cross-country, or, as we're prone to call it in our quaint way, "going mountain biking".

    It does seem to me that the marketing departments of the bike companies have sliced mountain biking up into categories so they can sell us five different bikes with 3/4-inch differences in their suspension travel.
