Emma Davies. She was on the Giro commentary for a few days. I found her really really annoying. She kept putting on this 'little girlie' voice whenever anything potentially dangerous was happening. Oh and she's quite boring as well. During transitional stages of the race her and Harman were dull as ditch water.

Fair do's. I know that she's quite fit checked her out during the Giro.
Her commentary has been pretty good over the last 2 days. No 'little girlie' voice detected thus far. She must have had a look at his forum!
So far she's won me over ... but early days.

Katie Derham came on stage at the presentation after a break and had put a coat on. She said " I've got my coat, I've pulled............." Live on air to the world............

She is a far better bike rider than most of us will ever be. However, this does not give her the crudentials to be sat in the commentary box.

For a pro's view, Eurosport has Sean Kelly. Quite what they think Emma Davis brings to the package is beyond me?

at least she doesn't do that "breathing in really quick through clenched teeth with lots of saliva in the mouth" thing Sean Kelly always does. Kelly is super-knowledgeable, but can be super-boring for less knowledgeable (aka "fanatical") viewers.

I didn't like her at first, but she certainly gives some life to the commentary. Nice to hear the light-hearted exchanges between her and Kelly too.

I thought Kelly sounded a bit annoyed when she started saying something about an old bike today - he snapped backed "I've got a better bike than you" or something... catty :twisted:

I do like Emma though, she seems quite knowledgable on the racing side of things - good to have a perspective from someone currently racing.

Sean Kelly didn't snap he was joking,you could tell by the tone in his voice,and I thought it was directed at David Harmon. They had a laugh about it.

Speaking of Kelly, if anyone hasn't seen the official updated Tour centenary DVD 1903 - 2005, you really should.

Kelly is so bad it is really quite unbelievable.

He does the link scenes between Duffer's voiceovers of old footage and he can be seen reading the script, looks uncomfortable, and has a shocking monotone.

Honestly, check it out, it's hilarious.

Davies looks fit but still not worth a Eurosport sub.
