hi all,
would pro2's with mavic ex729 rims be strong enough for big drops and rockgardens on my hardtail? if not, can anyone suggest another pair for around £300 with the same strength.
cheers

They should be fine.
To be honest, a lot of pros use 721s on Pro2s (painted yellow to look like Deemaxs!), 721s are almost as strong, and are lighter, and apparently hold the tire profile better.

I had a set of 719's on pro 2 built up by Merlin and they were spot on.0

Check out www.wheelpro.com
May be a little bit more than Merlin (my 721s on Pro2s with black spokes was £265 inc shipping), but hes supposed to be one of the best builders in the UK, a lot of DHers use him.
