For the life of me I cannot find any details about the opening ceremony this evening other than it starts at 6, there is a presentation and then life music.

Can anyone fill us in or point somewhere that does have details.

I have no idea. Although I did walk by Trafalgar Square last night and they were rehearsing. Some guy was practicing a rather lacklustre speech which led into a video of two French kids on bikes.

Apart from that expect lights, a bit of dry ice, pumping music, our Ken....and.....er..oh yes....some riders.

So, not many clues, but it sounds like you'll be able to get a good gander at the riders.

"TfL have remained tight lipped over the precise nature of the evening's events ever since last year when they boasted that their presentation would be better than Strasbourg's."

Er, wasn't it cancelled last year?

Nope. I remember them all parading round Strasbourg's canals on boats...needless to say some of the boats had more spare room in than the others!

Good job it's stopped raining, otherwise they could have been in boats again this year.

Nice to see Katie Derham involved, far better to look at than Duffers, Liggett or Imlach

There's coverage on ITV4 from 6.30pm, preceeded by highlights of Liege, so that's my evenings viewing sorted.
