Crankset/BB for on-one double fixed hub (chainline 50mm)

I've just taken off an old triple crankset and will be replacing with new single from hubjub.

I think I'm going for the surley messenger, I've read if you buy with a supplied bb you get a chainline of 42mm, if I use my exisiting bb should it be 50mm?

I'm terribly confused. Thanks
