Chainset/BB for on one double fixed hub
edited July 2007
On the on one site it states
Chainline is 50mm
Now does this mean I'll need a 50mm bottom bracket, please help.
If you could provide a link to a product that matches it would be great.
No, sadly the BB you require is not such a simple assumption - it also depends on what crank you're fitting too. Standard track chainline is 42mm - so a track chainset and BB will be too narrow, whereas a road double chainset is 46mm for the outside ring - so probably your best bet, maybe an older style chainset with square taper BB and putting a spacer behind the fixed cup will suffice. Suggest you get yourself a suitable chainset and start experimenting.
Make mine an Italian, with Campagnolo on the side..
I "solved" this issue when building my pomp by taking the bike in to the LBS and asking them to fit the proper BB to get the chainline right.
sounds like this is going to be the plan.
thanks for the advice guys but I think plain old common sense (what you've offered) should have resolved this query. I now feel stupid
