New bike

Firstly hello everyone
Ok, I am about to buy a new bike soon and was thinking of getting the Rockhopper Disc 07 now my old Toys R Us special has finally died.
Is this a good durable bike worth having or are there some hidden problems with it? I read in one of the mountain bike magazines there might be a problem with the wheels, and wondered if anyone has had any experience with them.
I also like the Merlin Malt series of bikes but the 320 mile round trip to the shop is putting me off, because of possible warranty issues.
Any advice appreciated

Both would be good choices, but its important that you test which with a 300+ mile round trip for Merlin my prove difficult.
The Rockhopper disc at £650 IMHO would be a good choice, all round good spec and a great frame for future upgrades0 -
Think I will go with the Rockhopper. The trip to Merlin is just a little too far, and like you said the Spec has a great frame for future upgrades.
Thanks Andy much obliged0 -
