New Bike; Is it any good?

I just purchased a Jamis Komodo at my l.b.s. and was wondering if this bike is good for singletrack with at least 3 foot drops and dirtjumping? the store i purchased it from knows exactly what i plan to do with the bike and they said its the perfect bike for it. is this true?

What year, and what model? 1.0 or 2.0? Both look par for the course, just keep an eye on the components, no bike is indestructable. Bad landing and things break.

This has the look of a dirt jump / 4X bike and it is marketed as suitable for big hits.
