Thermos Insulated Cycle Flask - Bike Thermos - Hot Drinks
Forum bods still don't seem to have brought over the last few days worth of posts, so this follows on from the post in the Cycling+ Know How forum re insulated cycle bottles.
I've managed to track down a stockist of the Vango 450ml Cycle Bottle - talk to Desperate Measures on 0115-981-6815. Mention you heard about it on the forum - I have no connection to them but promised I'd post, as I've had a lot of trouble finding a stockist so expect other people have too. He had about ten bottles in when I spoke to him, hope everyone who wants one can get one.

Is that cycle bottle actually a thermos flask or just a bottle? The one above it says specifically flask...this jus tsays bottle. I would like a thermos flask that fits a bottle holder....the 'cycle bottle' seems to do th etrick as long as it is actually a flask and not just a bottle.
I'm guessing it is a flask...but before I order it maybe you could put my mind to rest?

p.s thanks for posting this...I couldnt find one anywhere.Gravity sucks0 -
Well, I'm not 100% sure until my order arrives, but I'm pretty sure it's insulated and thus is a flask in the shape of a cycle bottle. It's price suggests it's a flask and not a single skin bottle ??? You could ask for confirmation when you phone ?
Ages ago (over a year ago) I found this product on another website (now disappeared) and I think at the time I managed to establish it was insulated and not just a bottle, but at that time I couldn't find one to purchase anywhere. Since then I've been convinced it was an insulated flask, though you've now sown seeds of doubt !
I have Sigg cycle bottles that are aluminium and not insulated, and I have the distinct feeling that the Vango was insulated and thus different to the Sigg, and that's why I was hunting it down. I feel I wouldn't have bothered with the hunt if it was simply going to replicate the single skin Sigg bottle.
Or maybe my memory's playing tricks on me. Sorry, not much help really I suppose. Suggest anyone considering purchase makes their own enquiries to their own satisfaction. Someone else out there must have one of these and could perhaps confirm one way or the other for us ?
See also the following on the CTC website - search for 'Vango' to quickly get to the appropriate section.

I'm pretty sure this bottle used to be found on the Vango website, tho I can't find it now. I don't know if it's been discontinued or not.0 -
I used the same Vango vacuum flask that you are talking about last winter and it worked very well. It kept drinks very hot for 2-3 hours at least.0

I've got a o.5l Thermos Everyday flask back from when they came with a neoprene cover. It fits exactly in a bottle cage and the cover stops it rattling.
I've been thinking about making another one using the neoprene from a knackered pair of overshoes.

Before you get an insulated bottle, have a look at the Bike Buddy

Have used the mk 3 for a number of years with no problems, and can carry other bottles, not just any thermostHills? what are they0 -
Got my stainless steel Vango flasks today, and can confirm they are insulated flasks, just in the shape of a cycle bottle with appropriate indent so they fit a bottle cage. Comes with a cage and additional cap too. They seem pretty good to me.0
