no code at all

any reason i can use neither html or bbcode? some other users seem able to do so, am i missing something or is this a problem that will get sorted out?

if not the new forum lacks seriously useful functionality that makes it far inferior to the old C+, animated emoticons and polls not withstanding.

The only thing I've spotted is links. just type them :D. The actual BCC looks like it's been stopped on purpose reading other threads.

I cannot seem to see the HTML... or rather i can see the HTML and things like quotes.. actually say quote..

do i need to change something in my browser? or will this sort itself out in?
  • To get a link, just type the URL, like this:

    http://www.cyclingnews.com

BBCode is currently turned off. It will likely return, when we have the facility to restrict it to post bodies, not signatures.

Why not just tell people not to use it?

and ban them if they do

You don't see the fundamental insanity of providing a means to do something and then banning people for doing it? It's a bit "Don't eat the fruit of that tree", innit?

We're trying not to be the Old Testament god here, especially as we lack the necessary omniscience and omnipresence.
