Hi all,

About to get a new bike and wanting to test ride the 2007 versions of GT Avalanche 1.0 and Trek 6000.

Does anyone have either of them or any feedback?

Ta,

Nick.

Both cracking bikes, and both will have their supporters. I personally prefer the GT.

I think the Trek is better looking (even in the orange) and better specced. But then it is £50 more expensive.

I like the shape of the GT but the silver Trek is the best looking!

ive got the Trek in silver

i considered both bikes, but in the flesh the GT isnt a nice bike, the gold stickers on the black frame make it look like a cheap supermarket special bike, i nearly ordered online and im glad i didnt, i wouldnt be happy if id bought the GT

    very happy with my Trek
  • I've had a GT since Jan 07 no probs great bike
saving up for the Zaskar for next year !
  • Hi there having owned a 2006 gt av although being the 2.0 version i can whole heartedly recommend these bikes. there strong, ridgid, fast when it counts and pretty light to boot.

The stopping power and handling of the 2.0 will only prob be better on the 1.0 model. Just make sure for component changes most of the 2008 models apprently will have downgrades to keep prices down hopefully you can pick up a deal on the 07

    good luck

I own a 2006 GT Av 1.0 disc and strongly recommend it. I am a big bloke and give it some big hits and it stands up to a lot. If you can get find somewhere that has the 2006 model I would definately go for that over the 07 one. Better brakes and forks just for starters!!
