Today on the Cenral Line between Mile End and Bethnal Green. From listning to the news it sounds as if the train hit a roll of tarpauling that had beed badly stored and the wind turbulance from a train passing in the opposite direction dislodged it and it fell onto the westbound track where it was hit by the frain and derailed. Yet another shot in the head for the troubled, soon to be bankrupt maintainence firm Metronet.
So many roads, so little time!!!

    a "roll of tarpaulin" shouldn't even have been in the tunnel in the first place.
    You do get some tramps living in caverns in the underground, it could have been debris left by one of them.
