Just like someone just moved in next door, I thought I'd pop my head over the metaphorical hedge and see if I can borrow a cup of sugar.

I'm one of the unruly mass of muddy MTBers from the WMB forum, but I can see from the various posts that there's little to tell between us all regarding first opinions of the new site. Bit of a shock to the system, eh?

Oh gosh....hello....so thats what the doorbell sounds like.....sorry....we weren't expecting visitors so early.....we're in a terrible mess here. Would you like a cup of tea...i think the kettles been unpacked.:lol:

Well.....it loomks like everyones getting on swimmingly anyway. Its like theres been a merger of schools and we've all found ourselves in the playground together with a load of new kids. The teachers are looking out the windows hoping its all going to be ok. Although I think I see a fight breaking out over by the hockey pitch.....

    Evening Major

All seems a bu99ers-muddle if you ask me, but jolly decent of you to stick your head around the corner and say hello.

Be interesting to see how it all shakes-out and how much cross fertilisation there is between "forums".

I'm 99.9% roadie, so I'll probably not wander far...

Hi mate, I am from C+ but me main bike is a MTB at the minute so I am sort of half assimilated in a way. Dont take any upset at some of the comments, I personally didnt have a clue this was happening -ie the move to a new site -so a lot of us are just confused, surprised and a bit distressed.

Hello everyone. I'm Juls from the Procycling forum. Although I knew this was coming for about a month now, coming over to the 'dark side' is a bit weird.

There are so many people here, and so many threads. Quite overwhelming right now.

My user name was changed - it took me a while to figure out how to log on.

So where is eveyone from (previous forum and location)?

The good news is - le Tour starts in 2 days and we will have plenty of good conversation over it!!

Nice to meet everyone - talk to you all soon. Juls

    Mornin' All

Another C+ 'fugee, but I dipped a foot into MBUK and WMB occassionally (though if the truth be told I originated from Singletrack). Started off as an MTBer, got a Roadbike, then a BMX so now I'm just a bit confused which cycling tribe I fall into.

One day I'm gonna try out a recumbent, and probably a folder. Experimentalism is the way forward (and my bike fetsh hasn't been sufficienty sated yet!).

'Ere, when I went home last night, this thread was in soapbox, and had at least three replies, all of which have been deleted now the thread's been moved.

    hello neighbourinos...!
I have similar issues with cycling identity: XC, DH, Road and Touring - I do all of em.
Cake stop is a very nice place to be if you are new to this bit of the forum. I'm sure I'll be over on the mtb bit with pointless technical questions at some point.
btw in view of the weather please feel free to share your view on mud tyres!

    Hi all,
Another C+ refugee (how I wish I could go back - no offence intended). I only cycle occasionally now, but am a commuter / tourist when I do. Nice to meet you all, as it were.

Hm. I just raced on Geax Barro muds at 30psi which are a 1.7 and very good...and I've also invested in a pair of Tioga Black Turtle 1.9 for 24/12 run at 20psi for cotswold loamy clag. Somebody shut me up!!

hi major, when you pop back next door can you ask your arch if they'll stand down and let us have our arch back?

either that or we'll send the baby elephant round to sit on your bike

Well, the MTB Cake Stop is called "Sandbox" so friendly posts have misguidedly ended up in Soapbox.

    I'm also a C+ refugee.....so hello.
I shreeble in a feeble way if I have to ride on a canal towpath, such is my fear of off-roading.

Know what you mean, FF; I'm 100% MTB. However, I'm also 100% social tart with verbal diarrhoea, hence my inviting myself to your party.

And very relieved I am at the welcome. Ta lots, guys.

Ah, I didn't realise there were some Arch rivals on here.....

Actually, I think the MTBing Arch came over from MBUK, and I'm a WMB orphan, so I'm not sure I'd have much sway. However, no problems with the baby elephant; I'm carrying enough lard to be reasonably confident my bike'll be OK for it.
  • Hi Everyone

I'm an occasional C+ poster too, blundering around this new site & getting lost a few times.

Still trying to find somewhere for a leisure/fitness rider of a road-going MTB to fit in...

Hi, another C+ refugee. Mostly on MTB though occasional road. This merger should provide a rich new seam of rides, ride buddies, kit suggestions, technical advice and jokes so I'm looking forward to getting going.

Another refugee from C+ here, though I suppose I dip my toes in various fora. The crossover might bear fruit, we could have carbon road bikes with disc brakes, and 45lb full sussers with aero tubing for that extra-competitive edge.
