Canada's certainly got a good reputation for some styles, but rightly or wrongly I think its freeriding/North Shore reputation has overshadowed everything else. I'm not a freerider, so Canada doesn't really hold much appeal to me for biking (although it's fantastic in other ways), so it's New Zealand for my money.0
