Why are zombies so tough?

Right, they've already died once, which shows they're shit, or just a bit of a pussy. But as soon as they become a zombie, all the loserness is gone and they turn into ruthless killing machines. Makes no sense.

    People go "ouch" when they get limbs lopped off, and fall over and bleed a lot. An animated corpse (zombie) is immune to pain, as they are dead. The only thing that keeps them moving is their imperative to consume brains.

    I think zombies take their strength from the sheer number of them. If you have seen any of Dawn Of The Dead or even Shaun Of The Dead you will see that Zombies can basically be taken the piss out of as they are so slow. But you get a shit load of them and then your in trouble.
