Now that all of the forums are merged does that mean that I need to buy a road, dirt jump, and DH bike so I fit in better with the multicultural bike scene we have here.

Well, certainly welcome, Jonathon. If I'm honest, I'm not too fussed with your owning a MTB before I say hello, but I won't discourage you from getting your tyres muddy .
