Sore Rear

Anyone had this? I'm mid 40's, been riding off/on for 10 years. Average speed & distance. Put in aprox. 80 miles a week(20-30 mile rides at time @ 18-20 mph avg.). Recently having sore rear when increased milage & saddle time (40 mile ride). I wear padded shorts but haven't been using the pad lube. I do have an old seat. Recently felt like mild hemorroid pain. Called dr. and using Rx.foam for hemorroids. Feels like pad in shorts have rubbed me raw. Off bike for week now. Going back to dr. today. No bleeding just itches with slight burn.

Boots zinc and castor oil cream from the baby section - cheap, and it works really well, stops all chafing.

Consider the possibility of a fungal infection - some 'Clotrimazole 1%' cream might sort that if it is the problem and you aren't allergic or whatever to such creams.0
