I am going to a concert at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday night and will be traveling from Bristol M4. I thaught I would take my bike in the car, park up a mile or so out and ride in to avoid the traffic/parking problems.
Does anyone have any advice on where to park and a route to cycle. Also is the bike parking safe at Twickenham.
Thank You.

I wouldn't park my bike near Twickenham Stadium. And don't park the car too close, it's restricted to permit holders on event days.

Unless the event finishes too late, could you catch the train? Bristol to Twickenham takes 2h09m with one change, according to the network rail site. Last train leave at 2241.0

There's lots of unrestricted parking in the residential areas on the north side of the stadium, with in a 15 min walk (look to the right of the Twickenham Road, but south of South Street, the whole area is due to become one big CPZ, but your still OK for now).
The walk through Mogden is fine for the Rugby, but I'm not sure I'd like to do it after 11:00 at night.
Finally, not sure about cycle facilities at the stadium either, especially as the south side is one big building site. You may as well walk and at least you'll be parked on the right sides of the Jams for the M4

Hi
I have cycled to Twickenham several times to watch rugby. I just lock my bike up in the most convenient car park at the stadium -- never had any problems.
Cheers

I help out with event parking at my son's school, a mile West of the stadium. I'll happily post a link to the website, but it normally costs œ15 to park - worth it if there's a group of you, not too hot if you're on your tod.
Traffic can be a nightmare when there's a big event at Twickenham, make sure you leave yourself plenty of time. On some days it's taken people hours to get from the motorway to the parking.
You might be better parking a few miles away from the stadium & cycling in. It'll be easier to find a space and probably quicker than trying to drive the last few miles. There are plenty of sheffields at the stadium, but they're mostly pretty cramped. I've left my bike there for hours at a time during rugby matches without any issues. I don't know how the security will treat taking bike lights/pumps etc into the ground, which might be a consideration.
I gather that a popular option is to park around Feltham & get a train to Twickenham (a 5 minute walk from the stadium).
