Col de Moissiere - Heads up

Just a quick warning about this lesser known climb which I did as part of the (otherwise excellent) Cicerone 'Cycling in the Alpes' - route 6.
The "route barree" sign at the bottom of the climb isn't strictly true for cyclists as the road workers do allow cyclists to wheel their bikes past the machinery. Unfortunatley, as you approach the works, there's no surface on the road and it's a bit like cycling up a sand dune in parts.
Other than that and the fact that the Croix de fer still isn't open on the north side, the book describes an excellent route that bags a few monuments but still shelters away from the worst of the traffic. Worth a look.
