As subject heading really - just want a cheap (less than œ40) set of pedals for a road bike.

I use Time on my MTB for the float so would like something similar that aren't going to kill my knees.

Anyone got any for sale?!

I've tried the darkside and now I want a slice of the action...
An MTBer, but with skinny wheel tendencies...

If colour isn't important, I reckon that these are good value road pedals - albeit their Look and not Time. I've never had problems with using them.

This would involve another pair of shoes though - which you may need anyway if the Time Road and MTB cleats are incompatible. You'll need to check the compatability issue out.

    This is my bike:

Colour not that critical, and I already have road shoes so that's not an issue either. Just don't want to spend too much and need to have plenty of movement for my knees!

Anyone know how Look compare to Time for float and movement? Those do seem to be good value!

How about shimano 105 pedals. Around œ35 pounds and come with the 'floating' cleat which allows room for movement and should not effect the knee area.

Another vote for 105 5600. Cheapest I found them was œ29.99, free delivery on

Bargain, I thought. They come with the floating cleat, but I don't know how much float they have compared to other brands. I'm happy with them, though the bluish silver designed to match the 105 group might not match other silvery components exactly.

Have just bought the 105s. Very flexible, very comfortable - quite brilliant with cheap Shimano SPD-SL shoes. Only downside? The blueish silver doesn't match the older pure silver 105 so now my groupset clashes with the pedals despite being all 105! Guess I'll get over it [;)]
