A rim would make a nice grass encroaching restraint for a circular bed in the garden!

Saw it in half and give it to a gardener. The two halves make superb supports for cloches or anti-pest netting for crops. It's usually easiest to saw through opposite the join, which you can probably then pull apart.

Could you het it and straighten it in a vice? Depends on th material/finish i guess.
If it's just a dimple you can fill it with liquid metal and file it flat - it'll still be good for use on a hack bike.

Like it Poacher, didnt think of cutting it up.
Endorser - I have tried hammering/pulling out the flat spot, but its not shifting. I mistimed a kerbhop, on a partially inflated tyre (after a pun?tu?e), and the weight was on the backwheel as it hit the kerb. The dent is not gonna budge. The buckle was temporarily fixed, but I had to wait a month before I got round to replacing the rim. I noticed the tyre tread now has a slight flat spot where the dented rim region was....Argh (a stitch in time....)0 -
Ah, right. Yeah, if th dent is in the edge you might have to find some ornamental use for it now - weld it into the middle of a metal garden gate?

All you need is 4 tons of wood, some glass, old tyre, hinge a sealant.. cut, plane wood to size in boat shape. cut glass in circle to fit rim, cut hole in wood to accomodate rim, apply hinge, tyre, and sealant.

Might be worth seeing if your Council has a "recyling centre" with a separate skip for scrap metal.
I've recycled old wheels and bike frames that way.0 -
Old rims are ideal for maturing your racing tubulars.
