Are all Brooks Saddles the same?

I have a Brooks Conquest saddle, but I find the rails don't allow me to push it as far back as I'd like - two of the copper rivets dig into me backside and it makes the whole experience unpleasant [V]

Would a B17 allow me to push it a further 1-2" backwards (compared to the Conquest) or will it be exactly the same?

It's cheaper and easier to buy a layback seatpost (and also avoids having to break in another saddle.......)

I already have a layback seat post... sorry, forgot to mention that.

I have just measured the rails on my Brooks Conquest and B17 saddles and they are very similar.

The straight section which fits in the seatpost clamp is about 2.5 inches long. The rails then run back for another 2 inches at which point they are vertical and join the rear frame piece which has the rivets fastened into it.

With both saddles as far back as they will go on the same seatpost, the B17 will overhang nearly 0.5 inch more at the back than the Conquest just due to it being a bit longer.

    I hope this helps.

Thanks Julk, looks like I will have to go for a saddle made by another brand. It's a shame, the Brooks was quite breathable... I'll save it for use around town.
