Best 23c puncture resistant tyres?

Following on from my "thumbs up for Millbrook Hargroves," I've discovered a 5mm gash in my rear tyre going across the part regularly in contact with the road, where my slow puncture arose. I suspect you gurus will recommend a replacement tyre due to the damage and its location...
My commute does involve using two stretches of industrial park roads, so I'm thinking I should try and minimise the chances of punctures, given that I cannot avoid these two stretches.
Would the "Vredestein Fortezza Quattro Tricomp Folding Tyre" be a good choice at œ16 (Ribble), or are there other tyres that I should seriously consider?

Provided the tyre is not too damaged you could always try Slime Tubes. It might sound a bit strange, but you can fix cuts in tyres with super glue. I've done this on my GP4000's and it's worked.

If you are looking for puncture resistance above all else then you can't go wrong with Bontrager Racelight Hardcase. They are pretty bomb proof although not the lightest or best for grip if racing.

Conti Ultra Gatorskins have always worked for me. Marathon Plus for ultimate puncture protection on my hack bike, heavy though, and only go down to 700x25.0

i have continental contacts and think they are brilliant.

The best tyres for puncture resistance are Specialized Armadillos, end of. However, they handle like Bambi on Ice, especially in the wet.0
-
Second the Armadillos as the best puncture resistant 23c. The ride is a bit harder in general but I feel very confident in the wet.0

Word has it that Michelin Krylions are very durable but very puncture proof as well, as a commuting/training tyre. I'm not sure how easily they'll mount/remove if other Michelins are anything to go by.
Other than that, Conti GP4000s are very good but a little suspect for wet road riding cos the rear especially tends to snake on a manhole cover or white lines.

I agree with SamuelQ, Gatorskins are the business

bonty hardcase, got 4500 wimter miles on these last year before i got a flat. I've also pulled nails out of them without a problem. Not the lightest, and not a summer tyre for the best bike, but for winter fully recommended.0
-
I ran Schwalbe Blizzard Sports for a while - they were lovely to ride on and really grippy on the corners, but I had loads of punctures with them.
I am now on Michelin Speediums - they are OK so far, with fewer punctures, but not the best on corners.0 -
Hardcase IMHO 1500 miles and plenty of small cuts that get filled with hot melt glue gun but not one puncture, i've pulled bits of glass and all sorts out of the tyres in the time they've been on, some so deep i can see the Kevlar band.
my new bike arrived with Conti 4 seasons on and i got a flat at the end of the first outing!![:(] i'll keep going with them but many more punctures and i'll change them for the bullet proof hardcases.

Wot, get up early and ride to work.... are you mad?0 -
If you're looking for something that is still a bit racey, then Continental GP 4000s are very good. I very rarely get pun**ures with mine and they're light and grippy as well.

Spesh Armadillos, every time. Heavy, but heavy-duty. I binned a pair of Conti Gatorskins after a series of punctures.0
-
If you have a large slash in the tyre I would say just bin it. I had to do the same the other day and it is painful at ?30 a pop but if you cannot have confidence that the tyre may explode mid corner then it is just not worth it. The inner tube was bulging out even after I had glued some inner tube to the inside of the tyre so it had to go.
