Cracked frame?

Hi,
while cleaning my bike this morning, I found a line of cracked paint around the bottom bracket.
Looking at this photo, do others agree that the frame is cracked:

Judging by the aged look of the cracked paint, presumably I've been riding it like that for many hundreds of miles.
Next question: would others get a new bike, or just risk carrying on riding it, and hope it doesn't completely crack apart?
I use the bike for commuting to work. It's an old Peugeot Professional with Reynolds 531 tubing. Not sure how old it is - someone was chucking it out and gave it to me.
Thank you

New frame.

Yes, most certainly a crack rather than a paint defect. As for riding it, if it fails at the wrong time in busy traffic you could end up under the wheels of a lorry. Personally I wouldn't take the risk.
On the plus side 531 is quite easily repaired, having said that by time you get it repaired and painted you probably could have bought a new frame for the same money. Look at my Quest below, frame and fork cost œ185 on EBay, plenty of other deals like that to be had.

Thanks for the advice everyone.
Sad to see the bike go, but I suppose it's better to be sad, and get a new frame, than not sad, and be squashed!0 -
its dead.

Short of having stay replaced, dead I fear.

Lucky it isn't an aluminium or carbon frame. You'd never hear the end of it.

Hang on, it's steel, don't they last forever?

One good jolt on an uneven road surface and that's gonna go... get rid before you find yourself in A&E.
