Anyone fitted the wireless flightdeck system on a 9 speed? If so is it accurate and any good and worth the pennies. Any info appreciated

Got the wireless on a 10 speed, but here shouldn't be any problems on a 9 speed. As part of the set up, you programme the computer with your particular set up, so the display only shows the number of cogs you've got.
IMO it's a superb piece of kit. Clear gear display, and I like the cadence feature which is just calculated from your speed, wheel size and gear ratio, so it tells you your rpm even you're freewheeling but luckily my legs know whether they're pedalling or not[;)]
I've not found any problems with it, and I've put one on my wife's bike which has also worked flawlessly.

    Buy One.

  • I agree it's a good piece of kit. Mines on a 9 speed and I like the the displays it give gears, cadence etc. Well worth the money...
  • I also use the flightdeck on a 9 speed, i like the features it has plus the fact you can operate it from the little dimples on each gear leaver. would recommend it.

I use the Flightdeck on my 10spd and certainly like the features, plus the operating dimples. However, on the latter point, be careful with same when you first use the item as it is easy to stop the computer by pressing on the button accidently - I found myself doing this when 'all over the hoods' gasping up difficult climbs!! I'm now into year 2 and find that I don't hit the button in this way any more.
