I just fitted a set of Cuno's Smart lights, and also run two Cateye LED jobs above them.
On my first nightshift commute since York I got flashed by a car to "dip" them!

Was out late one evening and it was getting dark as I came home. Still had the Petzel headtorch ziptied to my helmet(no comedians please!) lit and the bar mounted Dinotte LED set to flashing mode. In my rather fetching Montaine luminous yellow jacket and blue Met helmet no fewer than four people thought I was a copper, including one guy, pi$$ed out of his mind who asked me to not arrest him as he was only drunk because his girlfriend had dumped him.

So I let him off with a caution.

(I told him to go straight home and keep the noise down!)

Tyres now inflated, front blades fitted. Laddo at work has a decent (he tells me) clip on 3/4 rear guard, which he's bringing in for me tomorrow, as well as Blackburn carrier. I'll leave he carrier off for now as i've ot no bag for it anyway.

Lights are fitted, new pump clipped in place, all ready for my maiden weekday ride in on Monday! It's a 1400-2300 shift, so i'll be cycling home though Salcey Forest in the pitch dark. woooo ooooooo oooohhhhhhh! (and other ghostlike noises!)

Watch out for all the "doggers" in Salcey Forest....
Lived in Newport Pagnell for years so am familiar with Hanslope etc - sounds like you've got all the right kit - and as long as your rear lights are bright enough you should have a pretty good commute.
    Have fun!

It went pretty well. an hour flat for the 14 mile journey there, but took longer coming home - Preston Deanery was flooded so i had to thread my way around.

I loved it, and now aim to do as many comutes as poss, at least 3 a week.
