Subway or Trek/Specialised

I want to get a hybrid for commuting and 40 km pleasure rides after buying an inexpensive introductory Halfords MTB to commute to work/town. No problems with servicing or set up at my local Halfords store. With the Subway 2 costing œ299 is there real much difference in equipment when spending an extra œ200 on a Trek 7.5FX or Specialised Globe/Sirrius. I havent test ridden any of these yet but want a light bike as my saddle bags are usually full. My calves are starting to resemble a couple of rump steaks in size. Would appreciate any comments on comfort as well. Many thanks for any interest and apologies if asked before

I don't know about the weight difference, but somewhere on here is a Subway thread (use the search function).
It turned out that those of us who commute on a Subway are very impressed with it's durability.
Mines done a few thousand miles in over 2 years & is still going strong having only recieved 1 clean & no punctures.

Hot dang, it's the soggy bottom boys

I found that I went to the bike shop I liked the best, most bikes are similar so that was that.

    So I've ordered a Specialized
