Taking myself and my bike into Paul Hewitt cycles tommorrow for a fitting session and my bikes first service as i have had it around a month.
Has anybody else been to this shop? also what difference in set up is there between road and T.T racing as intend to do both but only have the one bike, and not currently able to afford a second. My bike is a Giant SCR 2.0
Cheers.

Do a search here, but from other posters enthusiastic comments, Paul Hewitt seems one of the best.

In terms of set-up a TT orientated position will have you pitched more forward over the bars (which are often set very low) and bottom bracket, idea is to get max power to the pedals and have a flat-back for aerodynamics. Tri-bars are usually added to the bars. When TT'ing aerodynamics is the major factor, manoeverability is not. When road racing, all-day comfort, manoeuvrability, rapid changes of pace, hills etc are all factors, hence a different less extreme/more flexible riding position is required.

Those of us who only have 1 bike find a compromise set-up or change bar and seat position for the 2 differing rides.
The SCR is a fine steed, the bars can be lowered considerably and the stem shortened if required.

Nice shop, nice bunch of lads. No matter how busy the shop is they always seem to have time for you. I go for a chat whenever i,m given some pocket money to spend.

Got to the shop for 1100am in there for over an hour getting fitted properly to my bike, to be honest i did not no how much went into set up on a bike and how important it is but i do now. The fit is perfect and he even did a setup on the jig to show me where to put the aerobars and the positioning for T.T races that i do on Tuesdays. Took it out for a test ride to see how it is and perfect, power output is better so i am now not wasting any of the pedal stroke making it more economical and i can ride faster over longer distances, as i went straight from the shop and did 17 miles in under an hour with some rather big hills thrown in for good measure.
Paul also asked Andy to have a look at my gearing as it wasnt changing gear very well so that is now spot on too. I cant recomend his shop and knowledge enough, all in all a very nice experience. The next thing from Paul's shop will be a set of wheels i think for T.T races.
