Im considering taking my son to watch some of the race on Sunday 8th July. Could anyone suggest a good viewing point along the route?

Stage 1 involves Grand Depart from the Mall, over Tower Bridge before the start at Greenwich.

I guess it depends on whether you want to watch racing or enjoy the full experience.

Racing is probably best seen on the route or at the finish. I'm heading to Greenwich to stay with friends and hang out at the start. Greenwich is a great place to spend a few hours especially if family are involved. It'll be crowded but there's loads of cafe's walks, a great park, pubs and should be plenty of good vantage points.
