Has anyone bought a Silk Road? how does it ride? Any comparisons to other Ti bikes such as quality/weight?

sorry - I can't really help you as I havent ridden one or any other Ti bike for that matter

but they look fantastic if that counts for anything in your book!

I do think they are quite expensive though - in comparison to the VN models certainly. I also like the Enigma models which are aroung the same price.

There's a thread somewhere where this crops up, try a search. I contacted Greg at Sunday who supplied a copy of a Cycling Weekly group test where the Silk Road was their 'real world' choice for sportives over the Specialized Roubaix SL. They preferred the Sunday to the Litespeed Ardennes, citing a good balance of stiffness and comfort as well as good value.

Any questions, contact Sunday direct, they were very helpful.

There's a guy on here called Adam Tranter who owns one. Maybe by bumping this back to near the top, he might read and post his findings..

    Hi,

I am the aforementioned Greg from Sunday... thanks for the comments re helpfulness. Best thing would be to give me a call / email and i can give you the gen... The Cycling Weekly feature obviously gave us very positive coverage.

I'd reject that we're 'expensive' - Silk Road full builds start at œ1499 with 105 and FSA finishing kits. œ1900 gets you an Ultegra build with Reynolds Ouzo pro fork, Reynolds Solitude wheels and a tasty reynolds / Oval Concepts finishing kit. thats a 54cm bike and it weighs 17.1lbs.

One more thing - we're just about to launch our audax bike and a 'cross frame for the winter. Expect these to be 'live' in September - although we've sold a couple on pre-order. We also have a tasty (and admittedly nore expensive) race frame developed for 2008 - its the one i've been using at the premier calendar up to the point where i got shingles... but that wasn't the bikes fault.

Anyway, hope i'm not hijacking the thread - any questions, email me.

    Thanks

    Greg
