Back Seat of the School Coach

Much fun had on Upper/Lower Thames Street and the Embankment this evening as I managed to get a 30mph draft all the way behind a coach. Even funnier was the banter I had with the school kids (on a trip from Sheffield) sitting on the backseat. They had great fun giving me V signs and other hand signals all the way. All the others thought it hilarious when I pointed to the ring leader and held up a bent little finger (childish I know, as is riding no handed giving them lots of my own hand signals in return, but it seemed to make their day).
Eventually lost them under Waterloo bridge when they got stuck in traffic, still they'll have all the pictures they took on their phones to remind them of me.
Happy days

I can't remember it being any different when I was young. Although the excursions may have been a little different; trips to see the Harlem Globetrotter's by coach, for example.

...one day, when one of them wins Le Tour, he will say he was inspired as a youngster by the cyclist that kept up with the school trip coach and always wanted to ride that fast[;)]......all the way...'til the wheels fall off and burn...0

Two kids on a BMX yesterday coming towards me on a narrow path. Just as they got in front of me I could see the passenger opening his mouth. Just as he started to bawl at me, I roared back at him. The look of shock on his face was a picture. They almost fell off with fright, but I heard them burst out laughing a second or two later. Childish fun, but it amused all three of us. [:D]
Cheers !

Drafting a coach at 30mph, no handed?
I think the kids were just trying to tell you you were nuts!0 -
Now, if you could have mooned them as well with no hands, that would have been impressive..."Tyres down on your bicycle, your nose feels like an icicle"0
