I'm off on holiday soon to Branscombe near Sidmouth in Devon. Can anyone provide me with some nice routes in the area. I will have the family so wont get away with anything in excess of 2 hours max.Cheers.

    Hi,

The local tourist information centres (eg in Seaton and Sidmouth) have a set of 10 local relatively short rides (see photo at top of http://www.ctcdevon.co.uk/cycleroutes.htm ).

To give you a flavour of what East Devon is like see http://www.lkjh.org/bike/uk/devon/budleigh/index.html

    Regards, Kirby

Pick up a map and plot pretty much any route. The only road with any amount of traffic is the A3052, and that's not a problem really.

Take note of the chevrons, though; if you like hills then you'll be spoilt. Head out to Beer and then over to Southleigh and Farway. Or from Beer on to Axmouth and then Combpyne.

If you head over to Sidmouth, you can have a go at Peak Hill, scene of the National Hill Climb championship last year; save some energy for getting back up Salcombe Hill though.
