Sunglasses & eyelashes

I have recently bought some Tifosi Slip sunglasses http://www.tifosioptics.com/interchangeable/slip.html

While they definitely make me look extra cool on the bike, I find that they fit so close to my face that my eyelashes touch the lenses. I thought I could learn to live with it, but have had them for a few weeks now and still find it mildly irritating.

Is it inevitable that this will happen with close fitting wraparound glasses, or are some brands going to be better than others.

And has anyone got a solution for the problem - short of trimming my eyelashes!

whaaaaaa !!! run away its a big eye lashed freak...[:D][:D]

Seriously.... I had a pair of spec that were the same and I just tried another pair and they are fine. My eye lashes aren't particuarly long, I think its more to do with the shape of my head not matching that particular pair of specs, and the glasses lying further into my eyes.[:)]

With normal glasses this problem can be cured by adjusting the nosepads. Try that, if there is any adjustment possible with these.

I'm a long-eyelashed freak and have always suffered this problem, particularly with modern tight-fitting wrap-around shades.
For cycling I tend to use the more "stylish" safety-glasses that are now available as these tend to offer a bit more eyelash clearance. Other than that I've kept with my Ray-Ban Wayfarers [:I](they WILL be back in fashion)[8D]as these seem to give the necessary space.

BTW, my Blue-eyed girls have inherited my naturally long eye-lashes...just wait 'till they learn to use them[:0][:X]

It never occured to me that I could be a long eyelash freak - I've always considered my eyelashes to be one of my best features[:I]

Anyway it is good to know that there are some fellow sufferers out there.

Does anyone know what the Revolution sunglasses from Edinbrough Cycle Co-op are like for eyelash clearance? They look like a cheap and chearful alternative.

The website quotes the eyelash clearance as 12.3 mm.

  • Don't bother with glasses, just wear tinted contacts and blink a lot to clear away those pesky insects... works for me (she lied)

I'm another long eye lashed freak.

I've had the Dhb glasses from wiggle, eye lases were no problem. I just looked like a tit in them, so sent them back.

I got the Edinburgh cycle co-op revolution ones instead and they look a lot better on me, and I've not found my eyelashes to be a problem. Although I can't adjust the nose pads on them to make them fit my nose better!!

Actually perhaps I'm not a long eye lashed freak, just a freak!!

I'm another long lashed bod, and find Oakley m frames sit at the right position 7 angle to avoid lashes. For normal sunglasses i suually get ones with adjustable nose pads to allow for a better fit.
