First T.T.

Entered my first T.T race last night over 10 miles and it was very windy and wet but managed to get round in 28.51mins. I was chuffed to bits as all i wanted to do was get below 30mins. I came last mind out of a field of around 55 but i didnt care about that, just chuffed that i did it, as i was a nervous wreck before hand, being that the majority of competitors had proper T.T bikes and full aero kit.
I can safely say however that i am hooked on it and will back next week to hopefully improve my time.

I will have a set of aero bars for next weeks race hopefully so that i can maintain a better position, and now that i now what to expect i should not be as nervous.

Its addictive isnt it?!! The aero bars will make a big difference, and if you can invest in a TT saddle (such as the selle italia SLR T1 or the Profile Tri-Stryke) you can sit further forward and get over the top of the pedals. This opens your legs a little so you can generate a bit more power when in the aero position. I'd then stick with this until you start beating a few people on TT bikes (which is laways a big incentive) knowing that when you get a TT bike there's another minute off [:)]

nice one, anything under 30mins is fantastic!! I am thinking about popping along to podimore tomorrow to watch the yeovil cc 10's. they are holding a come and try 5tt in july which i want to enter (wimp aint i!)
