Day off record breaking!

A day off today and I know it's raining for the next 4 days so decided to "go for it" as much as a 45 year old 13st man can. Didn't get up early enough to beat the morning rush hour and have breakfast so I skipped, that was a mistake. [:(]

Set of along the Aire Valley to Skipton, a 40 mile round trip, got passed by a fully kitted middle aged maniac at Keighley but had a nice Tortoise and Hare moment approaching Skipton[:D] A quick pasty and flapjack and I set off back, boy did I struggle on the last 5 miles, I don't know whether it was the missing breakfast or pushing myself or both.

Anyway.....my average was 15.7mph over the 40 miles, slow for some of you but a whoppping 2.3mph better than my previous[:p]I did it on a Dawes Discovery 201 with 700c x 35 tyres, I am going to have to get a road bike.

Alll in all, a great morning out, the roads were dry, the sun was out (mostly) and it cost me nowt! [:)]
