I'm a new recreational/fitness rider on a budget, and a happy internet shopper. It seems it's not generally recommended to buy shoes without trying various pairs, but mine feel perfect - if they didn't fit, I'd just send them back. I don't think I would have gained a much better idea of fit from a shop. I would have just ended up spending twice as much. Can't afford to always support the LBS...

Shimano 105 5600 SL and Shimano RO74 = œ64.98

Now I'm set for my first metric century.

    www.chainreactioncycles.com

Maybe you know them - they seem to have some of the best prices around and a good selection in stock. Items were delivered on the second working day.

Go on, take the plunge. Just been to the bike shop to get myself a proper pedal spanner, having broken my normal 15mm Draper spanner on someone else's pedals. If you don't have one, you might want to consider it.
  • Shoes were 2006 vintage no wonder they were cheap. Most bike shops would go very close to the œ80 quid (bought a pedal spanner) and most would have fitted the pedals and set up your cleats at the same time.

know a shop selling Northwave Aerator 3 shoes for as little as œ70 were œ130. Not all the deals are on line,
