Burst water mains this morning, and it really was burst. The tarmac is all pushed up and all over the place. The kind police officer let me and another cyclist use the road after asking if we could squeeze past the road block. God knows how long that will take to fix!!!

Not far down from the bus depot, so before the station (I think) if you are heading south bound. Looks like the road could be shut for a few days!

It wasn't actually closed when I came through, just a police car sitting there watching the road rise up and the water flow.
I got through with wet feet - haven't ridden with my feet off both pedals waving in the air since I was a kid.

Did you see the size of the hole!! Looks like it could be an age before it's reopened, especially as when I went passed this morning, there was only one workman and he was asleep in the JCB!!!
