New chain lubing
I'm sure this has been answered before but here goes.
I have a new chain and cassette and the chain has that really sticky grey grease on. I usually use White Lightning / epic type stuff.
Do I need to clean the grease off if I'm using one of these synthetic lubes? I am happy to use good old oil if that means leaving the grease on as the grease looks like a pretty good lube. What is it by the way?

I forget what it's called but it is very good lube - better than anything else you'll be able to apply, so you might as well use it for as long as reasonably possible.
Wipe the outside clean with a rag dampened (not ringing wet) with white spirit or similar. You only need the lube on the inside (on the pivoting parts).
