KMC 10 speed chains

I'm looking to replace the chain on veloce 10 speed. KMC appear to do 2 different 10 speeds - the X10-93 & the X10 SL. Both appear to be campag compatible. The SL is significantly more expensive (the SL being stretch proof, or some such). What other differences are there? Is the SL worth that much more?

  • I think it's got holes in the side plates to reduce weight.

Yeah, sl is the light model. I think it might also be silver plated to help prevent corrosion.

It would seem the SL had hollow pins.

The SL has hollow pins and is also titanium-nitride coated which should mean it should run smoother and last a little longer- hopefully! It looks very bling too - provided you're prepared to keep it clean - œ40 is a lot for a chain, but I can get a couple of years out of a racing chain usually.
