28mm to 25mm?

I've just fitted some mudguards and have had to swap from 28 to 25 to fit them. I just tried them round the block and seem fine but should they be OK for my commute on Monday. First 10 miles are smooth roads but the last five and In the town centre specifically are pretty **** and I appreciate the comfort and confidence when tackling pothole strewn roads.

Then again it is only 3mm difference, am I being overly concerned?

You'll be fine because you'll naturally take more care when it comes to the bumps and holes.

I fitted some Schwalbe MP+'s 25mm on my Sirrus which originally had 28mm's. The MAX pressure for the 25's is 120psi and it really gives a harsh ride around the bumpy, crumbled cycleways i use. Feels great on smooth tarmac though. Generally i pump them up to around 80 psi so they have bit more give in them and cushion the bumps a bit more.

Hmm - be careful of running at such a low pressure - 80psi should increase the chance of a pinch puncture I would imagine.
