SRAM powerlink

Hi,
I need some advise from you guys [:)]
I want to buy SRAM powerlinks for my two bikes...
Carrera Subway 2 = 3 x 8 Shimano gears
Raleight Bitesse = 2 x 7 Shimano gears
For the Carrera bike it seems to be easy, just get the 8spd Silver-grey powerlink, but I did not find powerling for a 7 speed chain. Do they exist? Or perhaps you can suggest an alternative soution.
Also, can you please suggest chain tools that are compatible with both chains?
Thanks in advance
Rick

I'm fairly certain that 5, 6, 7 and 8 speed chains are identical and therefore the 8 speed will work for a 7 speed chain. I'm sure someone with better tech knowledge will be along soon to confirm this.

I think Craigs right - the link for 7 and 8 is a silver colour and the 9 is gold.I must say goodbye to the blindfold

There have been slight width variations with some 5, 6, 7 and 8-speed chains and Powerlinks over the years.
I don't know if an 8-speed Powerlink would work with all of them.
8-speed chain can be used with 7-speed sprockets.

7 and 8 speed are the same, but watch what shimano model chain you have. HG50 and HG70 are slightly different width, and IIRC you can't get them to close with an HG50 chain, I know I couldn't on two chains.0
