tiagra front mech

does anyone know if a tiagra braze on front mech will work with a deore 26,36,48 mtb chainset running on a road frame? i'm thinking of chain clearance between the chain and the bottom of the front mech cage when running on the 26 ring .

    If it's a triple it'll be OK - tooth capacity is actually less than a road triple which can be 30-53 i.e. 23 teeth whereas you only need 22, but the other factor is whether the slot in your braze on is low enough to allow the mech to slide down far enough - afraid you can't tell without trying it out.
