For those in the Bristol and Bath area,
https://www.jambustingjune.com

Apparently I have saved 21.2 Kg of CO2 so far this month!
I think this is an estimate compared to using a car.

Jam Busting June is a great idea, just wondering how to get it started up here next year...

Best advice I ever got was "better get a bike then"
Cycle commuting since 1994. Blog with cycle bits.

Thanks - I've registered ... though what with a short commute and part time my CO2 is a mere 4.2 kg so far (also note it doesn't allow for irregular commutes around Bristol). And it would be interesting if they asked the question whether I would have gone by bike anyway or whether it was a change from my normal routine. In otherwords is it just those who were cycling anyway.

And I would love it to have included trips to school ... and let children do it too... then that might prove an incentive to children to ditch the car on the school run. (OK probably on a separate dataset).

Strikes me that the School is an ideal way to set this up.....

Use the Calculator and get each kid to look up their personal footprint, and then try to reduce it.

Interesting conclusions come out of the kids.....

A colleague of mine is married to a teacher. He did a similar thing for household energy. What amazed him was that if asked to cut down severely most children saw TV as expendable because it was for entertainment, but radio was necessary as you got news and education.

I'm registered - 4 prize draw entries and 12.7 Kgs of CO2 so far. Although, that doesn't take into account the scenic route I take a couple of times a week.

I wonder if it has encouraged anyone to change their commutting habits?
