Splitter !! KMC Link

May seem a daft question but how do you split the KMC link[^] 10 speed Veloce set up
I tried pushing together, flexing it slightly in all directions.
Is this where someone tells me I need a specific tool?[:I]

I only want to clean it properly, something I obviously don't do enough !

    If you talking about the KMC missing link grab the chain either side of the link so the the actual link is not under any load. Then with your free hand grab the link between your thumb & forefinger, squeeze the middle of the link and slide the plates in opposite directions. Should come apart easily

    I'll give it a go.
    Don't suppose a bit of WD40 will go amiss as I'm cleaning it anyhooo

    I use white spirit when cleaning mine and it comes up like new everytime. White spirit in an old plastic milk bottle and shake it about take out, dry it and then relube - job done.
