    Shimano or Campag version?

If Campag, a Veloce or Mirage 9-speed sprockets will fit on that hub and can be respaced with a special spacer kit available from specialist Campag dealers.

Sorry I don't know about Shimano 10-speed. Someone else will though......

If it's Campag I just did this very thing....so here's my experience:

Buy campag 9/10 speed compaitable wheel; I bought campag Khamsims but wouldn't reccommend unless you are a 300lb gorilla who can fit tyres to these wheels with brute force - God help when I get a puncture!!!! I ruined my plastic tyre levers& finger nails just fitting 2 old tyres that previously fitted Mavic Sup Cd with no effort.

If you need a new cassette make sure it's Individual sprockets becasue some are made as pairs with fixed spacing (wrong spacing). I think you need to go Veloce or higher. When you buy 9/10 speed you will chuck one away so think carefully what ratios you want. You can reuse your old one's also.......AND ...I've successfully mixed 'A' and 'B' sprockets on my 9 speed bike with no shifting probs so can have any combo you want from 11 up to 28 or 29.

The 8 speed chain works fine with whatever sprockets you use...I heard 9 speed also does the trick but never tried.

Don't bother buying a 'special kit', it's just a set of alloy washers the same size as the old plastic Campag 8 speeders from the old block...and cost 13 GBP... There is one thin spacer that goes on the inside but I managed to adjust it anyway - it's very very thin.

Amazingly when I fitted it all together (new wheel, cogs, spacers, etc)it ran and shifted perfectly with no adjustment.

shimano 8speed will fit. 10 speed usually have deeper slots, but will take 8 and 9 speed OK. you can't fit 10speed cassettes onto 8/9 speed though. you may need a thin spacer, but it may alrready be on your present wheels, or you can buy them from CRC (7 speed spacer)
