Just out of interest - has anyone on this forum experienced airport security problems in attempting to take any of the following items on board a regional flight as hand luggage?
- Cycling shoes/cleats
- Multitool
- puncture repair kit that includes patches/glue)
- sachets of energy gel (obviously within 100ml allowance)
- cyle pump (I'm thinking of the Cyclaire pull cord type)

I doubt a multitool will be allowed in cabin baggage.0

I've never flown internal, if that's what you mean by 'regional', but Leeds Bradford stopped me taking a multitool to Spain because it included a 1" pair of scissors. I put everything in the hold baggage now.0

The rules boil down to no tools, nothing that could conceivably be used as a weapon, nothing that's flammable. Bear in mind you're dealing with the type of person who wants to be security staff here, and therefore probably gets off on bossing people around. Rubber solution I'd definately put in hold luggage, and only an unused tube that's still sealed, so no fumes can leak out and be detected by the scanners. Same for tools. I'd play safe and put your SPDs in there too.0

I took a spanner, pedals, shoes with cleats through 2 weeks ago with no problem - although they did want to take a look to see ahat they were! Multitool went in the hold though!

There is an absolute ban on multi tools. All liquids, gels etc have to be in containers of 100ml or less and be carried in a separate clear plastic bag.
