Hi all, doing London to Brighton Sunday wondering if it is a good idea to change to flat pedal's due to the bunching and stopping etc I have heard about, never had a problem clipping in and out or should I be better safe than sorry.
Thanks guys.

I've used toe-clips and clipless on every one of the 14 or so L2B's that I've ridden even on a fixed without much incident, though last year nearly ended up in a heap on the part way up the beacon as the guy in front just stopped and about 3 of us leant on each other and stayed upright somehow!

  • Hi johnnyd firstly good luck on sunday, two things you have to think about, how long have you been using clipless pedals, and are they set up correct, and how confident are you riding in a bunch whenever you are clipped in.

Hi Sean and thanks, been using clipless for 3 years, had the normal things happen, rabbits with a radar trained on my front wheel just as I crest a steep hill determined to get run over at about 8 mph and the odd chain slip nothing bad. Not had much experience of riding in a bunch but I think i will be ok.

Good Luck to all who are taking part see you there.
