Bulk purchases of Lubricants /Grease ?
Hi all,
As i've got alot of work to do on family and friends bikes, (mainly servicing ect.)coming up, i was wondering if anyone knows where i can buy cycle specific lubricants and especially waterproof lithium type grease in bulk. I.E. 1Ltr bottles of lube and 1 Kg tubs of grease or workshop size dispensers/containers of same ?
My lbs charges a fortune for those little (100-250 Ml)bottles and even more for those little toothpaste sized tubes of grease, and i seem to run out in no time.
Any links / info much appreciated, cheers, Dale.

Hi Graham,
Unfortunately i dont know a Cycle Mechanic, i'm hoping a kind workshop owner / mechanic will come along here shortly and point me in the right direction as to where they purchase their workshop lubes/greases from. There must be somewhere where i can buy the stuff in larger quantities than previously stated.
Cheers anyway, Dale.0 -

Hi HGF,
Thats an interesting site, will look into it.
Thanks, Dale.0 -
Wilkinsons shops have 500 gram tubs of Comma brown lithium "multipupose" grease at a couple of quid or so.
Halfords and car accessory shops will have similar as well. Look for Castrol and own brands.

I got a big tub of lithium grease for about a fiver from Halfords. In the motoring grease section, not cycling section.0

i got a tub of lithium grease from the car shop. the last one lasted about 10 years servicing 3 bikes.i've always used castrol gtx from an oil can on the bike with no problems over the last 25 years.works out a lot cheaper than the tiny bike shop portions.0
